Kestral has been building diagnostic healthcare software since the mid-1980s, when PLS, its pathology laboratory system for public hospitals, was created. Kestral became a registered company in 1989 and developed RMS, its first radiology software, between 1989 and 1991. RMS evolved into Karisma in 2006, now one of the leading radiology information systems in Australia and New Zealand.
